Used the email address that is registered with outlook.
Added my email address as a parent (for additional contact). I received a code, that then took me to a page called 'Account recovery' for the email address I am trying to access. Completed name, DOB, Country where I created the account and then it takes me to a page where it asks for 'other passwords' that have been used for this account or if any other Microsoft products have been registered with this email. I don't think they have, but then it says insufficient information to reset the account.

Is the child's account linked to a family group?

Generally, accounts that have never been used have few verification methods, which makes resetting the password difficult.

Which specific prompts are you referring to? What have you tried doing so far?
