Log out other users

For an MSN/Outlook.com personal Microsoft account, the fastest way to block unauthorized access is to sign out everywhere and tighten sign-in methods.

1. Sign out of the account everywhere.
   • Use the Microsoft account “sign out everywhere” option to sign out from all trusted devices.
   • This is recommended when unauthorized access is suspected.
2. Change which aliases are allowed to sign in.
   • Go to your Microsoft personal account at account.microsoft.com and select Your info > Sign-in preferences.
   • Choose which email aliases are allowed to sign in, then select Save.
   • This blocks sign-in for selected aliases while keeping them on the account.
3. Add another way to sign in or verify identity.
   • Go to the Advanced security options page of the Microsoft account.
   • Select Add a new way to sign in or verify.
   • Keep phone numbers and email addresses used for verification up to date.
4. Check Outlook.com sign-in state in the browser.
   • In Outlook.com, select the account picture or initials in the top corner and select Sign out.
   • If Sign out is not visible, sign out manually and close all browser windows.
5. If the account is blocked because of unusual activity, use the sign-in recovery flow.
   • Start with the Sign-in Helper.

Important:

• Outlook apps do not support signing out in the same way as Outlook.com in a browser.
• If access is still being attempted, restricting which alias can sign in is the supported way to block sign-in for a specific email address on a personal Microsoft account.
