Was just resubscribe to Microsoft 365 family. I only want a single subscription, but I’m never able to figure out how to downsize my subscription. Please correct the resubscribe to family that I was charged for today.

To move from the Microsoft 365 Family subscription to the Personal version is switching to a version with fewer features, the process is explained on the link below, basically you need to cancel the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you should get a pro-rata refund, then take out a new subscription to the Microsoft 365 Personal version.

To switch from Microsoft 365 Family to a single-user plan with fewer features, the supported path is to cancel the current subscription and choose the lower plan during the cancellation flow.

    1. Sign in to the Subscriptions tab at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
    2. Find the current Microsoft 365 Family subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel subscription.
    4. On the Cancel page, select the lower plan that fits the need.
    5. Follow the prompts to complete the switch.

    Important details:

    • A switch to a plan with fewer features does not usually happen immediately. The current Family subscription typically stays active until renewal, then changes to the new plan.
    • If the subscription was purchased through a third-party billing partner such as Apple App Store or Google Play, that provider manages cancellation, renewal, payment method changes, and may or may not allow plan switching.
    • If the charge happened today and the goal is billing help for that renewal, use Microsoft Support for account and billing assistance: Contact Microsoft Support.
