It depends on where you are seeing the Microsoft account, is that an account that is listed on the login screen when you start Windows?

If so, if you have another account that is a full administrator account on the PC, log into that other account you want to keep.

Then, click your Start Button and just type netplwiz and press Enter.

On the resulting utility, select the account you want to remove and click Delete.

To remove an unused Microsoft account from a Windows PC, use the path that matches how that account is connected:

For another user account on the PC:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Other user.
- Under Other users, select the account.
- Next to Account and data, select Remove.
- This removes that person’s sign-in information and data from the device, but does not delete their Microsoft account.
For a work or school account connected to the device:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Select the dropdown next to the account.
- Select Disconnect and confirm with Yes.
- This removes the sign-in information and data from the device, but does not delete the account.
If the account is showing in Teams:
- In Teams on Windows, macOS, or web, select the profile picture at the top of the app, then select Sign out.
- For a personal account on Windows, go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts, choose the account, then select Remove.

Important:

Removing an account from the PC does not close or delete the Microsoft account itself.
For work or school accounts, complete removal may require the IT admin.
