Try these steps in order on Windows:

    1. Cancel all stuck print jobs
      • Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the thermal printer.
      • Select Open print queue.
      • Right-click each job and select Cancel.
    2. Restart the Print Spooler service
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type services.msc and press Enter.
      • Find Print Spooler.
      • Right-click it and select Restart.
    3. Manually clear the spool folder if jobs still will not clear
Warning: this removes all pending print jobs.
      • Open services.msc again.
      • Right-click Print Spooler and select Stop.
      • Open File Explorer and go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
      • Delete all files in that folder.
      • Go back to services.msc.
      • Right-click Print Spooler and select Start.
    4. Restart both the printer and the PC
      • Turn off the printer.
      • Wait at least 60 seconds.
      • Turn the printer back on.
      • Restart the PC from Start > Power > Restart.
      • Try printing again.
    5. If the queue keeps getting stuck, check the printer driver
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Print queues or Printers.
      • Remove unnecessary, old, or duplicate printer drivers.
      • Install the latest driver for the printer model from the manufacturer.
    6. If printing still fails, run the Windows printer troubleshooter
      • On Windows 10, run the automated printer troubleshooter in the Get Help app.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Thank you for providing the details of the issue.

Based on your description, this behavior is commonly caused by a Print Spooler issue, a corrupted print queue, or an outdated or incorrect printer driver. I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Clear the print queue

    • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Select your thermal printer and open the print queue.
    • Cancel all pending print jobs.

    2. Restart the Print Spooler service

    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Locate Print Spooler.
    • Right-click Print Spooler and select Restart.

    3. Clear the spooler files

    • Stop the Print Spooler service.
    • Browse to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
    • Delete all files in this folder.
    • Start the Print Spooler service again.

    4. Reinstall the printer driver

    • Remove the thermal printer from Printers & scanners.
    • Download and install the latest driver available from the printer manufacturer's website.
    • Re-add the printer and print a test page.

    5. Check for driver conflicts

If this printer was installed previously, older printer drivers or print monitors may be interfering with the current installation. Removing any old printer instances and associated drivers before reinstalling can help resolve the issue.

    6. Verify printer connectivity

    • For USB-connected printers, try a different USB port or cable.
    • For network-connected printers, confirm the printer is reachable on the network and that the correct printer port is configured.

If the issue persists after completing these steps, please check whether the Print Spooler service is stopping unexpectedly or whether the printer driver is compatible with your version of Windows. In many cases, clearing the spool folder and reinstalling the printer driver successfully resolves jobs that remain indefinitely in a "Spooling" or "Printing" state.
