How to use my Office Professional 2019 and not 365

I want my purchased office 2019 product on my laptop, not the 365 version. How do i do that?

If you purchased Office Professional 2019 as a one-time purchase, you don't have to use Microsoft 365. You can reinstall and activate Office 2019 using the license associated with your purchase.

First, open Word and go to File > Account. Under Product Information, check whether it currently says Microsoft 365 or Office Professional 2019.

If Microsoft 365 is currently installed and you specifically want Office 2019, first make sure your Office 2019 license is available before uninstalling anything.

If you previously redeemed Office 2019 and associated it with a Microsoft account, sign in with that same account and look for your Office 2019 product under your account's products/services. Once you redeem an Office 2019 product key and associate it with an account, you normally reinstall it using that account rather than entering the key again.

If Office Professional 2019 appears there, you can uninstall the Microsoft 365 version from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, restart the computer, and then install Office 2019 using Microsoft's installer associated with your license.

One important exception: if yours is Office Professional Plus 2019 rather than Office Professional 2019, the installation method may differ because Professional Plus is commonly a volume-license product. Microsoft specifically notes that Professional Plus, Standard, Workplace Discount Program, and volume-license editions can have different installation procedures.

Also, Office 2019 reached end of support on October 14, 2025. It can still work, but Microsoft no longer provides regular security fixes, bug fixes, or technical support.

Before uninstalling Microsoft 365, could you tell us exactly what your purchased license says: Office Professional 2019 or Office Professional Plus 2019, and whether Office 2019 appears in your Microsoft account? That will determine the correct installation method without risking your existing installation.

I have Office Professional 2019 and it does appear in my Microsoft Account.

Thanks for confirming. Since it is Office Professional 2019 and it appears in your Microsoft account, this is much simpler.

You can remove Microsoft 365 and reinstall the Office Professional 2019 you purchased using the license already associated with your Microsoft account.

Before uninstalling anything, I recommend opening your Microsoft account and confirming that Office Professional 2019 has an Install option. If it does, you can proceed.

In Windows, go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Control Panel > Programs and Features) and uninstall the current Microsoft 365 installation.

Restart the computer.

Sign in to your Microsoft account using the same account where you see Office Professional 2019.

Find Office Professional 2019 and select Install.

Run the downloaded installer and complete the installation.

Afterward, open Word and go to File > Account. Under Product Information, verify that it now shows Office Professional 2019 and is activated.

Microsoft 365 and a perpetual version such as Office 2019 generally shouldn't be installed together on the same PC, so removing Microsoft 365 first is the cleaner approach.

Don't worry about your existing Word, Excel, or other Office documents when uninstalling Microsoft 365. Uninstalling the Office applications doesn't delete your documents or workbooks.

Also, since your Office 2019 license is already associated with your Microsoft account, you normally don't need to purchase another copy or enter the product key again. Sign in with the account associated with the license and install it from there.

Hi! You can use Office Professional 2019 instead of Microsoft 365. 😊

First, make sure Office 2019 is installed on your computer. If Microsoft 365 is currently installed, you may need to uninstall it and install Office Professional 2019.

Once Office 2019 is installed and activated, you can use it without a Microsoft 365 subscription.
