Change in payments

For Microsoft 365 and OneDrive purchased directly from Microsoft, replace the old card with a new payment method in the Microsoft account, then update the subscription to use it.

1. Go to your Microsoft account payment methods page and add the new card.
2. If the compromised card has a different card number, replace it with the new payment method rather than editing the old one.
3. Go to Services & subscriptions.
4. Find the Microsoft 365 or OneDrive subscription.
5. Select Manage, then Change how you pay or Edit payment info.
6. Select the new card and save the change.

Important details:

• If only the expiration date, name, or billing address changed, the existing card details can be edited.
• If the card number changed because the card was compromised, lost, stolen, or replaced, add the new card and use it as the replacement payment method.
• For prepaid subscriptions, the payment method for the current subscription can’t be changed. In that case, update the payment info and buy a new subscription when the prepaid subscription expires.
• If the subscription was bought through Apple, Google Play, or another third party, the payment method must be changed with that provider.
