Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
This is not possible by merging or moving Xbox data from one Microsoft account to another. Xbox profiles, purchases, achievements, subscriptions, and saved progress stay with the Microsoft account where they were created.
What can be done instead:
- Keep the Microsoft account that already owns Xbox account 1.
- Change the sign-in email for that Microsoft account by adding email 2 as an alias, then make it the primary alias.
- If email 2 is currently being used by a different Microsoft account, it cannot be added as an alias until it is removed from that other account.
- Microsoft personal accounts cannot be linked, merged, or combined.
To change the sign-in email on the account that owns Xbox account 1:
- Go to the Microsoft account Edit account info page.
- Select Add email.
- Add the new address, if it is available.
- Set it as the primary alias.
- Optionally remove the old email after confirming sign-in works.
Important:
- Another Microsoft account cannot be added as an alias.
- If email 2 belongs to the account being kept for Xbox account 2, that account would need a different alias first before email 2 can be freed up.
- Deleting Xbox account 2 does not transfer anything from Xbox account 1 to that account.

The question: is it possible to move my xbox account with all the acheivements and apps onto my newer more widely used account? The last resort would be loging into the old xbox only account on my new surface, but is that is my only option I can and will. Thank you!
