Sharing Microsoft 365 with family

If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Premium, the subscription owner can share it with up to five other people in the family group.

Steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft 365 sharing page: https://account.microsoft.com/services/office/sharing
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to set up the subscription.
3. Select Share or Start sharing.
4. Choose one of these options:
   • Email invite: enter the family member’s email address and select Invite.
   • Create link / Copy link: send the link by email, text, or another message.
5. The invited person must accept the invitation and select Join now to join the family group.
6. After accepting, they can sign in to their account dashboard and install Microsoft 365 on their devices.

Important details:

• Sharing is not available with Microsoft 365 Basic or Microsoft 365 Personal.
• The invite must be accepted within 48 hours.
• If the invited person is already in another Microsoft family group, they must leave that group first.
• Shared members get their own separate personal files, email, calendar, contacts, photos, and notebooks.
• AI features and extended storage options are only available to the subscription owner and cannot be shared.
• Do not share a product key. Product keys cannot be used for subscription sharing.
