Cancelling a recurring billing that I set up on someone else's account that I cannot access

Years ago I helped a colleague set up Microsoft 365 on their laptop. I set them up with office and I used my credit card details to pay for this. This has been charged each year and I am not able to cancel the charge. I disputed the charge last year but the person had already used the updated version of Office and so Microsoft rejected my chargeback claim. I have tried contacting the person but I am not able to get through to them to ask them to switch off recurring billing. I cannot log into their account so how do I stop these yearly recurring billing charges?

Can someone please help me as I have spent hours trying to resolve this issue but I keep going round in circles and I can't find any phone numbers or email addresses to use to contact someone from Microsoft to resolve this issue.

I really do not want to be charged for another year for a product that someone else is using.

Thanks for your help

Scott

If you are unable to contact that person to ask them to cancel the subscription and you are unable to access their account to cancel the subscription yourself, it may or may not be possible to cancel the subscription since it is not linked to your own Microsoft account.

The best first option is to contact your bank to cancel the direct debit for the subscription.

If that is not possible, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly and explain the situation to them, they may be able to resolve this for you, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option
