Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For a personal Microsoft account, there are only a few supported paths left in this situation:
- Do not keep requesting codes repeatedly Excessive or repetitive requests can cause Microsoft to temporarily stop sending verification codes. If the account is blocked due to unusual activity, codes may not arrive until the block clears.
- Try another verification method or wait If another sign-in method is available on the account, use that instead. If not, wait before trying again. Microsoft states that sometimes waiting a day is enough, and if there is still no change after 24 hours, wait longer, up to 1 week. Repeated attempts can reset the time lock.
- Check the email path carefully
- Verification codes sent by email can only be sent to your primary alias or another email added as a verification method.
- Check Junk/Spam.
- Valid verification emails come from @accountprotection.microsoft.com. Mark that sender as trusted.
- If the verification email is another Microsoft address such as Outlook/Hotmail/Live/MSN, use InPrivate/private browsing so both accounts can stay signed in at the same time while retrieving the code.
- Review and replace security info if possible If the password is known and access still exists to at least one security method, sign in to Advanced security options, add a new way to sign in or verify, confirm it with the code sent there, then remove the old phone number.
- If access to all security info is lost At the Verify your identity prompt, select I don't have any of these and follow the instructions to replace security info. After replacement, there is a 30-day wait before sign-in is allowed. If the old security info is found during that period, using it to sign in cancels the update.
- If the password is not accepted and no security info is accessible The supported recovery path is the account recovery form. Since it has already been submitted again, the remaining supported action is to wait for that process and avoid repeated sign-in or code attempts that may prolong a temporary block.
- About contacting a support agent without signing in Microsoft provides Contact Microsoft Support and the Sign-in helper for sign-in issues. However, support agents are not allowed to send verification codes, send password reset links, or access and change account details. That means a support agent cannot bypass account verification or manually restore access to a personal Microsoft account.
- If prompted to verify security info before sign-in It is possible to skip that prompt for 24 hours at a time, but after 7 days from the first notice security info must be verified or new security info must be added before sign-in can continue.
Based on the details provided, the practical next steps are:
- Stop repeated code requests.
- Wait at least 24 hours, and if needed longer, up to 1 week.
- Check whether the code destination is the correct verification email and whether mail from @accountprotection.microsoft.com is being filtered.
- If no current verification method is accessible, use I don't have any of these or continue with the account recovery form.
- Use the Sign-in helper or Contact Microsoft Support only for guidance/escalation, not for bypassing verification, because support cannot change the account’s security details directly.
