Eg, Training, Information sessions, End of year presentations

Hi @Kelly Peck

Currently, Microsoft Teams does not provide a built-in feature to create custom categories for webinars and automatically separate them into different event pages.

As a workaround, you can use consistent naming conventions (for example, [Training], [Information Session], [EOY Presentation]) and customize each event's registration page with different branding and descriptions.

The Teams Events app, as suggested by the forum AI, does provide a Discover experience where users can browse published events, and organizers can use the Webinar event type when creating webinar events. However, these features do not currently support custom categories or separate category-based display pages.

If this is a feature you would find valuable, I encourage you to submit a feature request through the Microsoft Teams Feedback Portal. Once submitted, feel free to share the feedback link here so other community members who would benefit from the feature can review it and vote for it, helping increase its visibility with the product team.

Thank you for your contributions.

Teams supports creating and managing events from the Events app with a unified creation flow, where organizers configure settings such as registration, attendee interaction, scale, and branding based on the event scenario. The documented customization includes event details, branding, templates, and management, but the available context does not describe a feature to create custom categories such as Training, Information sessions, or End of year presentations, or to create separate display pages by webinar type.

    What is supported:

    1. Use event templates or create from scratch
      • In Teams, open Events on the left side.
      • Select Create event.
      • Choose Create an event from scratch or select an event template.
    2. Customize each event’s branding and details
      • Open Events > Manage.
      • Select the event and choose Edit to update event details.
      • For branding, select the cover image Edit option to add a banner, logo, and theme color.
    3. Use the Discover and Manage experiences in the Events app
      • The Manage tab is for organizers to manage drafted or published events.
      • The Discover tab is where attendees find events they’re registered for, explore new events, and access past recordings.

A practical workaround is to distinguish webinar types through the event title, description, template choice, and branding so each event clearly appears as Training, Information session, or End of year presentation.
