You are not the only person seeing this. There have been multiple recent reports of the Microsoft “Press and Hold” verification getting stuck in a loop during account creation.

At this point, I would stop repeatedly creating accounts, because multiple failed attempts in a short period can trigger additional anti-abuse checks.

Try these steps instead:

Use a completely different network, preferably a mobile hotspot rather than the same Wi-Fi connection.

Temporarily disable VPNs, ad blockers, privacy extensions, and strict tracking protection.

Try a different browser engine, not just another Chromium-based browser. For example, if Edge and Chrome fail, try Firefox or Safari.

Try the account creation from another device.

If possible, wait before making another attempt rather than retrying continuously.

Microsoft moderators have also recommended changing networks because the verification block can be related to the IP/network reputation being used during account creation.

If the CAPTCHA still loops after trying a different device and a different network, this is very likely not something you can fix locally. At that point, the best option is to contact Microsoft Account Support and report that the “Press and Hold” verification cannot be completed.

I would not recommend trying to bypass the CAPTCHA or creating many additional accounts, as that can make the anti-abuse system more restrictive.
