Hi shalini p,
Based on the information shared, it sounds like the edited document was successfully created, but its save location may not be the one you expected.
A quick check that may help is to look at the file's Modified Date in File Explorer. Sort your files by Date Modified and search for .docx files edited around the time you created the copy. This can often reveal the downloaded document even when the filename is slightly different than expected.
You can also try:
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to This PC.
- Search for
*.docx. - Sort the results by Date Modified.
- Look for recently created or updated Word documents.
If you're still working with the original document in Word for the web, consider opening it and checking the document name and recent activity to help identify whether a new copy was created locally or whether you are continuing to work in the original OneDrive file.
