Hello James Kohnke,
I’m sorry you’re having trouble setting up your iCloud contacts and calendars in Outlook.
Since the iCloud folders appear but cannot be opened, please try these steps:
- Close Outlook and iCloud.
- Open Settings > Apps > Default apps, select Outlook, and make sure the available Outlook-related file types and protocols are associated with Outlook.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, select Microsoft 365, choose Modify, and run an Online Repair.
- Restart the computer, open Outlook once so that the default profile loads, and then close Outlook.
- Open iCloud for Windows, enable Contacts and Calendars, and select Apply again.
Also check Control Panel > Programs and Features for any older Office installation. If more than one Office version is installed, it may interfere with the iCloud setup.
If the error continues, could you confirm:
- Are you using classic Outlook or new Outlook?
- Was Microsoft 365 installed from the Microsoft Store or directly from your Microsoft account?
- Does Outlook show the iCloud add-in under File > Options > Add-ins?
- Are any older versions of Office still installed?
These details will help determine whether the problem is with the Outlook profile, the Office installation, or the iCloud integration.
Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
