For a Bluetooth device that connects and then disconnects right away in Windows 11, use this order:
- Run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter in the Get Help app first. It can automatically diagnose and fix common Bluetooth problems.
- Check the Bluetooth device itself:
- Turn the Cricut off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- Keep it close to the PC.
- If it is near a USB device plugged into a USB 3.0 port, move it farther away. Unshielded USB devices can interfere with Bluetooth.
- Verify Windows 11 Bluetooth settings:
- Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- Make sure Airplane mode is off from the taskbar quick settings.
- Remove and pair the device again:
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Find the Bluetooth device, select More options > Remove device > Yes.
- Pair it again.
- Change Bluetooth discovery to show all device types:
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, select Advanced.
- If the connection keeps dropping, turn off power-saving features that can interrupt Bluetooth:
- Turn off Energy Saver from the taskbar battery icon if it is enabled.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth device.
- Open Power Management and clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Restart the Bluetooth service:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
services.mscand select OK. - Right-click Bluetooth Support Service and select Restart.
- Update the Bluetooth driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Restart the PC if prompted.
- If Windows does not find a newer driver, install the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer’s website, then restart.
If the issue started after a Windows update or the current driver is generic, the manufacturer’s Bluetooth driver is often the most important fix for repeated connect/disconnect behavior.
