URGENT HELP NEEDED! Microsoft Personal Account is locked with message: We have detected unusual behavior on your account.

My account (personal, not business) suddenly lock with message We have detected unusual behavior on your account. I tried to use Recovery form and be said to wait for 24 hour. I waited for 2 days but nothing happen. I don't know where to find agent from Microsoft to support this. Please help me check it!

For a locked personal Microsoft account showing unusual activity, use this path:

Try to unlock the account by signing in at account.microsoft.com to request a security code.
- Any phone number can be used to receive the code.
- The phone number does not need to be linked to the account.
- The phone only needs to receive text messages.
If the account is blocked during verification or shows "Try another verification method":
- Try a different verification method already connected to the account.
- Try a different network, such as switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
- Stop repeated attempts and wait. A block can clear after 24 hours, and in some cases it may take longer, up to 1 week.
If the account was locked due to suspicious activity and the sign-in page does not show Next, use the aka.ms/ reinstatement link shown in that window and submit the form there.
- After submission, a Microsoft Online Safety support agent reviews the request and contacts by email.
- Do not submit multiple reinstatement requests, because that can slow the response.
If self-service steps still do not work, use the Microsoft Sign-in helper to identify the issue and available support options.
To reach a live support option, use Contact Microsoft Support.
- If the locked account cannot sign in, use another personal Microsoft account to start the support request.
- In support flow, select Other Products and Manage account security.
- Then choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser if available.

Important:

Microsoft support agents cannot send password reset links or directly access and change account details.
If an unusual sign-in alert email was received, the legitimate sender is ******@accountprotection.microsoft.com.
If the account may have been compromised, review the Recent activity page and use the recovery guidance for hacked accounts.

If you are verified, instructions on how to log back into your account will be sent to you, and if you are not verified, you will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. I still not get any email from Microsoft account after 24h of submit recovery form. Do you know the reason why and what should I do?

Hi,

Did you check your Junk or SPAM folder to see whether the email from Microsoft ended up there? Or use a different contact email address and submit the form.

Important: You can use the account recovery form only if two-step verification isn't turned on.

Alternatively, you can also submit the account reinstatement form here to the Microsoft Digital Safety team. Select 'I am getting an error that my account has been temporarily blocked' and submit the form.

Hi,

In the first time I submit the recovery form, I don't fill in the question box, there is an email sent to me said that "we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership". Then I submited another form, answered 2 question and no email sent back to me in 24 hours? Does it mean I two-step verification isn't turned on? And should I wait some day more and submit recovery form again or submit Account Reinstatemment?

Hello,

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that you are the owner of the account. It can be a time-consuming process, but providing as much information as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft. You can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

If you did not receive any email, please use a different 'Contact Email address' and submit the form.

Meanwhile, you can also submit the reinstatement form 2 times every 24 hours. Please check your contact email address to see if you received any account recovery email from Microsoft.
