how can I recover access to my long standing Hotmail account that Microsoft says does not exist?

I have suddenly lost access to a long-standing Hotmail account. When prompted to sign in, Microsoft says the account does not exist, although the account was active and is still generating password requests. I have submitted the recovery form and contacted support, but the issue remains unresolved. Please arrange a manual review of the account and advise how I can restore access. I can provide verification details privately when requested.

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out.

I'm afraid that account recovery is an automated process and no one here has access to Microsoft accounts.

First, try recovering the account using any other alias, phone number, or Skype name previously connected to it:

    https://account.live.com/password/reset

If it says that the original Hotmail address does not exist, contact Microsoft Support, only Microsoft can investigate it, and account recovery cannot be guaranteed.

Thank you, but this does not address the specific issue. The account was in regular use until very recently, and the address and domain are correct. Microsoft continues to request its password through connected devices, yet the sign-in system now says the account does not exist.

This suggests that the original Hotmail address may have been removed or changed as an alias without my authority. The standard recovery process cannot resolve this because it does not recognise the affected address.

How can I have a suspected unauthorised alias change or account takeover referred to the appropriate Microsoft account-security channel? I can provide the account details, previous support case numbers and verification information privately.
