I have been trying to get into my laptop for 2/3 days. I’ve lost my pin. As I have got Parkinsons it’s getting me very frustrated. I need to help me. (PII Removed).

    Hello,

I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue.

May I please know if you have the option to reset your PIN from the Sign-in screen itself?

Like the one in the screenshot here-

    User's image

Select the 'I forgot my PIN' option on the Sign-in screen and follow the prompts to reset it.

    (OR)

See if you have the Password Sign-in option.

So that you can switch the sign-in option from 'PIN to Password' and use your Microsoft account password to sign in to your device.

Let me know if you still need more help.

Try these steps from the Windows sign-in screen:

    1. Select Sign-in options and switch from PIN to Password.
    2. Sign in with the password for the Microsoft account used on the laptop.
    3. If the password is also forgotten, use I forgot my password on the sign-in screen, or recover the account here: Recover your account.
    4. If the PIN option is available, select I forgot my PIN and follow the prompts to reset it.
    5. If verification codes are required and the usual device is unavailable, select Sign in another way and use an alternative verification method if one was set up.
    6. If none of the above works, restart the device. If updates are pending, use Update and restart.

    Important:

    • Microsoft support cannot retrieve or bypass a lost or forgotten password.
    • If the Microsoft account username or password has stopped working, verify the correct email domain and spelling, and try any alternate alias or phone number on the account.
    • If the account still cannot be found or recovered, use Contact support.
