Hi Team,

I've realised I'm being double charge for my microsoft 365 subscription. Please see list below, I have a OneDrive Personal account, but I've been double charged. Please see below list taken from my credit card statement.

How can I

  1. Cancel the account I don't use
  2. Get a refund

Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alba

    Good day

Before looking at cancellation or refund options, I would like to clarify one important point.

Based on the statement provided, I cannot yet confirm that these are duplicate charges for the same subscription. The main challenge is that the charges shown on the statement have different descriptions, amounts, and payment methods. For example, I can see recurring monthly charges (approximately 9.90 and 10.40) as well as a separate annual charge processed through PayPal.

Because of this, the first step is to match each transaction to the Microsoft account and subscription that generated it. Once each charge has been mapped to a specific account/subscription, it will be much easier to determine whether:

    • The same subscription has been billed twice; or
    • There are multiple active Microsoft subscriptions under different accounts.

To help identify which subscription is generating each charge, could you please check the following:

    • Sign in to each Microsoft account you may have used and review the active subscriptions at: https://account.microsoft.com/services
    • Check the subscription renewal dates and compare them with the transaction dates shown on your credit card statement.
    • Search your email inbox for Microsoft receipts, order confirmations, or subscription renewal notifications and verify which account received each receipt.
    • If you use PayPal, please also check the billing agreement details in your PayPal account to identify which Microsoft subscription is associated with the annual charge.

Since I cannot access billing records or backend account data, I am unable to verify the charge directly. If you are still unable to identify the subscription, please contact Microsoft Billing Support, as they are authorized to review billing records and help investigate the charge.

At the moment, it appears that you are using both a personal account and a business account, so:

    • If the duplicate charges are related to payments deducted through PayPal, please contact the Contact Us support team.
    • If the duplicate charges are related to your Enterprise/Government (E/G) subscription, please call Microsoft Support by following the guidance below.

You can try to find the related hotline number to call the frontline let them raise a ticket for you: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

If you are able to use English, you may also prefer the following phone numbers:

*(Important Note: Depending on your country or region, when you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)

Please try 2 or 3 times until you can reach out to an agent.

Finally, while you work with Microsoft Billing Support to investigate the charge, you may consider contacting your bank or card issuer to ask whether they can temporarily block future Microsoft charges. This may help prevent additional charges for a product or subscription you do not intend to use until the matter has been clarified and resolved.

Although I cannot support this issue directly, I hope I have provided enough information to help you move forward.

    Wish you all the best!

    Use this check-and-fix path:

    1. Review order history to confirm whether there are two separate Microsoft purchases for the same service.
      • Sign in and review order history here: Review your order history
      • Look for multiple purchases for the same amount that appear close together.
    2. Check whether the same payment card is linked to more than one Microsoft account.
      • Go to Payment options / Manage your payments and select Investigate: Go to payment options
      • This helps find charges made from another Microsoft account, including another family member account or a second personal account.
    3. Cancel the subscription that is not needed.
      • Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
      • Find the subscription and select Manage.
      • Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
      • Follow the prompts to complete cancellation.
      • If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage, that subscription is already set to expire and no further cancellation action is required.
    4. Check refund eligibility.
      • Refund eligibility is determined during cancellation.
      • Not all cancellations result in a refund.
      • For Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, OneDrive, and ClipChamp subscriptions, prorated refunds are available only in these countries/regions: Canada, Denmark, Faroe Islands, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Greenland, Guadeloupe, Israel, Korea, Martinique, Mayotte, New Caledonia, Réunion, St. Barthélemy, St. Martin, St. Pierre & Miquelon, Türkiye, and Wallis & Futuna.
      • In all other countries, prorated refunds are not available for those subscription types.
    5. If the charge is not recognized or the duplicate subscription cannot be found in order history, use Investigate on Manage your payments.
      • Common causes include recurring billing, a previously declined charge being collected later, or another account using the same card.
    6. If assistance is still needed, contact Microsoft Support.
