I have 2 different charges for MS 365 - one on Aug 9 for monthly billing and full payment for a yearly subscription on August 27th. How do I get rid of one of the charges?

To remove one of the charges, first identify whether this is a true duplicate charge or two different subscriptions.

    1. Check Order history and Services & subscriptions for the Microsoft account used to buy Microsoft 365.
      • Review whether there are two separate Microsoft 365 purchases or renewals close together.
      • If only one appears, another Microsoft account or a family member may have used the same card.
    2. Investigate the charge from the Manage your payments page.
      • If the charge is unrecognized or not shown under the current account, use Investigate there to search for other accounts using the same payment method.
    3. If one subscription should be removed, cancel that subscription.
      • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
      • Select Cancel subscription or Upgrade or Cancel.
      • Review the page, then choose I don't want my subscription.
      • If Turn on recurring billing appears instead, that subscription is already set to expire and no further cancellation is needed.
    4. After canceling, check refund eligibility.
      • Refund eligibility is checked after cancellation.
      • Not all cancellations result in a refund.
      • If the subscription was bought through Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, cancellation and refunds must be handled with that provider directly.
    5. If the charge happened after cancellation, verify timing.
      • A charge can still occur if cancellation was made less than 2 days before the billing date.
    6. If the duplicate charge still cannot be resolved, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support.

If one of the subscriptions is tied to files in OneDrive, download needed files before canceling it, because losing the subscription can affect access to the included storage.

    Hello,

Use the AI answer to cancel the one you don't want to keep.

Then use this instructions to get to support to ask for a refund.

Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.
