It's utterly shocking how bad Microsoft has become. Nothing works. Nothing makes sense. Nothing is intuitive. Every product takes more effort to work with than it's worth. You see these community forum msgs with 100s of users telling them they broke their product, and 3yrs later it's not fixed. Field Chooser for Outlook. Something SOOOOO basic and rudimentary. Outlook is basically unusable. But SOMEHOW, MS thinks they know better. WHAT. A. JOKE. Don't even get me started on the DOGS BREAKFAST of Teams.

My question is, WHEN WILL MICROSOFT LISTEN TO USERS?

    Thank you for saying this plainly.

    When a tool is not optional when your employer requires it and you have to make it work whether you like it or not losing a feature you relied on daily is not a minor annoyance. It costs you time on every single email, and being told to adapt is not much comfort. That frustration is fair, and you are not the only one expressing it.

    I want to be honest about what I can and cannot do here. This is only a community forum and I cannot give you a date, a commitment, or a promise that a specific feature will return. What I can give you is a working path today and the route that actually reaches the people who decide.

    On the Field Chooser specifically:

    • Column customization still exists in full in classic Outlook. Switch to classic, then use View > Change View > Single or Preview and then View Settings > Columns to add fields such as To, Categories, or Flag.
    • It is not currently available in the new Outlook for Windows message list, so if those columns are part of how you work, classic is the version to stay on for now.

    On being heard:

    • Use Help > Feedback inside Outlook or Teams rather than a forum post. Community feedback is prioritized where large numbers of users report the same thing, so adding your voice to an existing item count for more than a new duplicate.
    • Keep each submission to one specific item "restore the Field Chooser in new Outlook" travels further than a general complaint, however justified the general complaint is.

    If you tell me the specific Teams behavior that is costing you the most time, I will look at whether there is a supported way around it rather than leaving you with only the feedback route.
