For classic Outlook on Windows, this usually happens when the Teams Meeting add-in is unavailable, disabled, or the account type is not supported.

    Try this in order:

    1. Confirm the account type
      • The Teams Meeting add-in in classic Outlook works with Microsoft 365 Exchange-based work or school accounts.
      • It does not work with Outlook.com accounts used with Teams for home or small business.
      • If Outlook and Teams are using a personal Outlook.com account, create meetings from the Teams app or Teams web instead. Those meetings can still sync to the Outlook Desktop calendar.
    2. Make sure Outlook is classic Outlook
      • The Teams COM add-in is for classic Outlook.
      • New Outlook for Windows does not use the Teams COM add-in.
    3. Check whether the Teams add-in is enabled in Outlook
      • In Outlook, go to File > Options > Add-ins.
      • Look for Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office under Active Application Add-ins.
      • If it appears under Disabled Application Add-ins, select Manage > COM Add-ins > Go.
      • Check Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office.
      • Select OK and restart Outlook.
    4. Sign out and back in to the Teams desktop app
      • Fully exit Outlook.
      • Fully exit Teams.
      • Start Teams again.
      • Sign out, then sign back in.
      • Restart Outlook.
      • Also make sure Outlook is not running in Administrator mode.
    5. Verify the desktop apps are supported
      • The Teams desktop client must be installed. The add-in cannot be installed if only the Teams web client is used.
      • Outlook should be Outlook 2016 or later.
      • Install all available Outlook desktop updates.
    6. Run Microsoft’s troubleshooter
      • Use the classic Teams add-in for classic Outlook troubleshooter from Get Help.
      • It works on Windows 10 or later, on the same PC as classic Outlook, and it does not work with new Outlook for Windows.
    7. If the add-in is still missing, reregister the Teams add-in loader
      • Exit Outlook and Teams first.
      • Go to %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingAddin.
      • Open the subfolder with the highest build number for the current version.
      • Open an elevated Command Prompt and run the correct command for the Office bitness:
      For 64-bit Office:
         %SystemRoot%\System32\regsvr32.exe /n /i:user <path>\x64\Microsoft.Teams.AddinLoader.dll

      For 32-bit Office:
         %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe /n /i:user <path>\x86\Microsoft.Teams.AddinLoader.dll

      • Then restart Teams, sign out and back in again, and restart Outlook.
    8. Check the add-in registry setting if it still does not load
      • Warning: incorrect registry changes can cause system problems.
      • Open RegEdit.
      • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\TeamsAddin.FastConnect.
      • Verify LoadBehavior is set to 3.
      • If not, change it to 3 and restart Outlook.

If the issue is specifically the message “Sorry, you need to sign out of Teams and sign in again before you can schedule your meeting”, the most common cause is that the add-in is being used with an Outlook.com/personal account instead of an Exchange-based work account.

    Dear @Taha Ahmad,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you're using Classic Outlook and are unable to schedule Teams meetings because Outlook keeps prompting you to sign in to Teams even though you're already signed in. You're looking for help resolving the connection issue between Outlook and Teams.

To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm the following:

    • Does the issue occur with all meetings or only when creating a new Teams meeting from Outlook?
    • Have you recently changed your password or account credentials?
    • If you open Teams first and confirm you're signed in with the correct account, then launch Outlook, are you able to create a Teams meeting successfully?
    • Have you tried signing out of both Teams and Outlook and then signing back in using the same Microsoft 365 account?
    • Can you confirm whether the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office is enabled in Outlook?
    • If you have already performed any of the above steps, what were the results?

Your confirmation would be very helpful in ensuring you receive the most suitable support!

In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to check what might have caused the issue:

    • Open Outlook and go to File > Options > Add-ins
    • Look for Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office under Active Application Add-ins
    • If it appears under Inactive Application Add-ins, select Manage > COM Add-ins > Go
    • Check Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office, select OK, and then restart Outlook
    • After Outlook reopens, try creating a new Teams meeting again
