Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi Vishal
Outlook for Windows cannot directly open or import an Outlook for Mac OLM file, and Microsoft does not provide an official OLM-to-PST conversion utility.
If you still have access to Outlook for Mac
The safest Microsoft-supported approach is to transfer the data through an Exchange, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, or another IMAP mailbox:
- On the Mac, import the OLM file into Outlook for Mac.
- Add the same email account that you will use in Outlook for Windows.
- Copy or move the imported email folders from On My Computer to folders under that mailbox.
- Keep Outlook for Mac open until synchronization is complete.
- Add the same account to Outlook on the Windows computer. The synchronized messages should then appear automatically.
- If you specifically need a PST file, export the synchronized mailbox from Outlook for Windows:
- Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
- Select Export to a file > Click Next.
- Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) > Click Next.
- Select the mailbox or folders and enable Include subfolders.
- Choose where to save the PST file and complete the export.

Before removing anything from the Mac, verify that the folder counts, attachments, contacts, and calendar items are available on Windows, and keep an untouched backup of the original OLM file.
I hope the information I shared earlier was somewhat helpful in addressing your issue. If you have any further questions or updates, please don’t hesitate to share. I’m always happy to assist further if needed.
