- Download the latest driver from the official HP website.
- Identify the exact printer model.
- Go to HP’s Support or Drivers section.
- Search for the printer model.
- Select the Windows version if prompted.
- Download the latest printer software and driver.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen setup steps.
- Restart Windows if prompted.
- If the printer is still not working correctly, update or reinstall it through Device Manager.
- Select Start > Device Manager.
- Expand Printers.
- Right-click the HP printer and select Update driver.
- If no update is available, select Uninstall device.
- Restart the PC so Windows attempts to reinstall the printer driver automatically.
- As a last resort, use the Add Printer Driver Wizard.
- Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Printer server properties.
- Open the Drivers tab and select Add....
- In the wizard, select Next.
- Choose the correct processor architecture.
- Select Windows Update to download the latest printer list.
- Choose HP under Manufacturer.
- Select the printer model, then select Next and Finish.
If printing problems are happening in Office apps, also make sure Office is updated:
