Again - can’t log into my account. Asks for Authenticator code and when I open the app, it asks for an Authenticator code which sends me to the Authenticator app which asks me for the code to login, which leads me to … never ending and annoying

This is usually an MFA loop: the account is configured to require Microsoft Authenticator, but the app is not currently usable for that account on the device.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Open Microsoft Authenticator and make sure the app itself opens normally, is responsive, and the account is actually listed there.
    2. If the app is locked, unlock it first. An authentication prompt may not appear while the app is locked.
    3. Update Microsoft Authenticator from the device app store.
    4. Make sure notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator. If prompts are silent or disabled, the approval request may not appear.
    5. Check that the device has internet access. If needed, switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
    6. Verify the device date and time are correct.
    7. Restart the device, then try signing in again.
    8. If the sign-in shows another verification method, use that instead.

If this is a work or school account and the loop continues, the next step is to contact the IT admin or helpdesk. For managed accounts, they can help restore access when Authenticator is not completing sign-in.

If this is a personal Microsoft account and the issue continues after the steps above, send logs from Authenticator for diagnostics: open the app, go to the app’s top-level menu, and select Send feedback. Then contact Support.

If unexpected sign-in prompts appear, select Deny for any request that was not initiated.
