MY MICROSOFT ACCOUNT GOT HACKED

Use the Microsoft sign-in helper immediately. It asks for the email address or phone number and either shows the right self-help steps or offers the chance to talk to an agent: Start

Then do these steps in order:

1. Scan the PC for malware before changing anything
   • Open Windows Security.
   • Go to Virus and threat protection.
   • Select Scan options > Full scan > Scan now.
   • Run a full antivirus scan before changing the password.
2. Try to reset the password
   • If sign-in still works anywhere, change the password immediately.
   • If sign-in does not work, use Forgot my password or the account recovery flow: Recover your account
3. If unusual sign-in alerts were received, review account activity
   • Go to Security basics.
   • Select Review activity.
   • If suspicious activity appears, select This wasn't me or Secure your account.
   • Then select Change password.
4. If access is recovered, check account settings the attacker may have changed
   • Review connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies.
5. If the account is blocked, use the Sign-in Helper
   • Outlook.com accounts that are temporarily blocked for unusual sign-in activity can be unblocked through the helper.

Important facts for this situation:

• Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.
• If the attacker changed the email/security info and recovery does not succeed, community answers in similar cases report the account is usually no longer recoverable.
• If the username is no longer recognized, support can be contacted from the official support flow after trying recovery.

If a message was received from the Microsoft account team, email from the domain @accountprotection.microsoft.com is trusted.
