I changed phones (Android) and trying to add Tesla to the MS Authenticator like I had in my last phone but can't seem to do so. Help.

For a new Android phone, Microsoft Authenticator can restore many account entries, but third-party accounts such as Tesla typically rely on a one-time password entry. If Tesla is not showing or cannot be used on the new phone, use this path:

    1. On the old Android phone, open Microsoft Authenticator.
    2. Go to Settings and make sure Cloud Backup is turned on.
    3. Confirm the backup is stored to a Microsoft personal account.
    4. On the new Android phone, install the latest Microsoft Authenticator.
    5. Restore from backup using the same recovery account.
    6. Check whether the Tesla entry appears.

If the Tesla entry still does not appear or restore is unavailable:

    • Verify backup was enabled on the old phone.
    • Verify the same recovery account is being used.
    • Verify the restore is being done to the same device type.

Also make sure the app is working correctly on the new phone:

    • Update Authenticator to the latest version.
    • In Settings, turn on App updates.
    • In Settings > Notification Settings, make sure Show notifications is turned on.
    • Turn off battery optimization for Authenticator.
    • Check that Date & time on the phone is correct.
    • If using VPN, disconnect and test again.

If the old phone is no longer available and the Tesla entry was not backed up, the supported content only confirms restore behavior for third-party one-time password entries when backup was already enabled.
