The error in your screenshot is the key here. Microsoft Learn allows one personal Microsoft account (MSA) on a Learn profile. Your @ElanWave address may look like a work email, but Microsoft is currently recognizing it as a personal Microsoft account, which is why it cannot be added as a second personal login.
The safest route is to use your existing Learn profile that contains the certifications and link the account you want to keep there:
Learn → Profile → Settings → Account Management → Add login account
Microsoft supports having one personal account plus up to five work/school accounts on a Learn profile. When the accounts are eligible for a merge, your certifications, transcript, and learning history are combined.
In your case, though, @ElanWave is being treated as a personal account, so the normal merge is blocked. I would not remove or delete the existing Learn profile. Contact Microsoft Credentials Support and explain that the company-domain account is being classified as an MSA and therefore cannot be linked as a work account.
Most importantly, do this before you lose access to the ElanWave account. Microsoft specifically recommends keeping a personal account linked to your Learn profile so your certifications remain accessible after leaving an employer.
