Switching to 365 Family classic from 365 Family plan. No longer want copilot expense.

My 365 family plan is due to renew in a few days. I tried to cancel the current family plan to renew into the classic family plan without the AI.

I followed the instructions that say click cancel and select classic as an option. That is no longer valid, and it only gives options to purchase higher plans.

I am going to get rid of 365 if I can't change to classic, and haven't found a way to actually speak to a human to fix this.

This didn't resolve the issue, and appears to be outdated. I had to search hard to find someone to chat with. When I finally did, the solution I have been told is to let it expire, and then contact chat support to get the plan that I need. They did provide me with a direct link to use once it expires, and so that I don't have to retype the issue all over again. It would help if you actually had links in your explanation.

    Hi Tim Rhind,

Thank you for the update and for sharing the solution you received from Microsoft Support. I’m glad you were eventually able to reach a support agent and obtain a direct link to continue the plan change after your current subscription expires.

You’re also right that providing the relevant links would make the guidance more useful. For reference, you can manage your subscription through Microsoft Services & subscriptions, and Microsoft’s current guidance is available here: Switch between Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

Please keep the direct link and any case or ticket number provided by the support agent, as these may help avoid having to explain the situation again.

Thank you again for taking the time to update the community. Your experience may also help others facing the same issue. Thank you so much for your understanding.
