One drive personal vault cannot be accessed

cannot access personal vault in one drive. i get a render error. i have tried several times, cleared my cache, signed out and signed back into onedrive, restarted my windows laptop and opened in a private window with the same result.

I understand Personal Vault remains inaccessible even after trying a private window and signing in again.

Could you share the complete “render error” message or a screenshot, and confirm:

Does this happen on the OneDrive website, File Explorer, or both?
Does it also happen in another browser or device?
Can you access your regular OneDrive files normally?

This will help determine whether the problem is browser-specific, limited to the OneDrive app, or affecting the account itself.

I was able to access my vault on my phone but still cannot do it from my dell laptop running windows 11

I also receive a Unknown Render failure message when attempting to open my Personal Vault documents.

Yes this occurs on the website, Yes this occurs in Chrome and Edge.

Yes this occurs on my other devices.

I can access regular One Drive files.

Hello,

Since regular OneDrive files remain accessible, this appears limited to Personal Vault.

sweyman, since Personal Vault works on your iPhone, please test it through File Explorer:

Confirm the personal OneDrive app is running and signed in.

Open File Explorer > OneDrive.

Open the Personal Vault shortcut and complete the identity verification.

Jeff Palatini, please confirm whether Personal Vault also fails in the OneDrive mobile app and whether Unknown Render failure appears before or after identity verification.

If Personal Vault fails through both the website and File Explorer, please contact Microsoft Support. This is a public community forum, so other users here cannot inspect the affected accounts or OneDrive service data.

Thanks for getting back to me. The problem seems to have fixed itself. I was able to access them today. I will keep checking over next few days to see if it is indeed fixed or if the problem recurs. Thanks for everything!
