Problem description

I have an Azure Communication Services resource with five existing phone numbers and want to purchase five more. I'm unsure how to request additional numbers beyond the default quota of five per resource. No error messages or logs are available.

Environment

Azure Communication Services resource with default quota of five phone numbers per resource, region not specified.

What I've already tried

I have not tried anything yet. I am seeking guidance on how to acquire more phone numbers beyond the default limit.

Current status

I would like a step-by-step guide on how to request an increase in my phone number quota and acquire additional numbers.

I think you just ask azure support to raise the “ACS phone numbers” quota for ur subscription/region. once they bump it, open acs → phone numbers → get → buy the extra nums. acs limits aren’t fixed at 5; they depend on country/region, number type, sms/10dlc, and any regulatory docs.

can u add those three? azure decides the quota item and required docs based on them.

Yes. Azure Communication Services phone number limits are not necessarily fixed at five numbers per resource. If you need additional phone numbers, Microsoft provides a phone number quota increase process for Azure Communication Services.

    1. Open the Azure Communication Services phone number quota request form:
    2. Provide the required details, including:
      • Azure subs ID
      • Azure Communication Services resource name
      • Country or region where numbers are required
      • Number type (Local, Toll-free, etc.)
      • Required capabilities (Calling, SMS, or both)
      • Current quantity of numbers
      • Requested quantity of numbers
      • Business justification
    3. Submit the request for review.
    4. Once the quota increase is approved, return to:
      • Azure Communication Services -> Phone numbers -> Get
    5. Search for available numbers and complete the purchase process.

    Additional info:

    • Phone number availability varies by country, region, and number type.
    • Some regions may require regulatory documentation before numbers can be assigned.
    • If you anticipate future growth, consider requesting a higher quota than your immediate requirement to reduce the need for additional requests later.

    Hello @Fahd Mujtaba

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for reaching out.

    Thank you for your patience.

For your requirement to acquire additional phone numbers beyond the current limit for your Azure Communication Services resource, the request was reviewed through the appropriate support process.

I’m happy to confirm that the request to increase the number of phone numbers available for purchase has been reviewed and approved by the relevant team.

You can now proceed with acquiring the additional phone numbers from your Azure Communication Services resource through the Azure portal.

For reference, you can review the following Microsoft documentation:

    • Get and manage phone numbers in Azure Communication Services:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/quickstarts/telephony/get-phone-number?tabs=windows&pivots=platform-azp-new

    • Country/region availability and subscription eligibility:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/concepts/numbers/sub-eligibility-number-capability

Please note that phone-number availability and capabilities can depend on factors such as the Azure subscription's eligibility, billing location, country/region, phone-number type, intended use, and applicable regulatory requirements.

I hope this clarifies your query and helps you proceed with acquiring the additional phone numbers.

If this answers your question, please consider accepting it as the answer, as this may also help other community members with a similar requirement.

    Thanks
