Subject: My Microsoft account was hacked and primary email was changed to taraxacummail.com

Hello Microsoft Support,

My Microsoft account has been hacked, and the hacker has changed my primary security email to @taraxacummail.com. I can no longer log in or reset my password through the normal process.

  • My original email: @gmail.com
  • Hacker's email: @taraxacummail.com
  • Date of hack: 4 days ago

When I try to access the recovery page, it shows a "temporary maintenance" or error message. I can provide any previous passwords, personal details, or creation information to prove that I am the rightful owner of this account. Please help me secure my account and remove the hacker's email.

Thank you.

    Hello qwead adwsw,

I’m sorry your Microsoft account was compromised and that the primary security email was changed. I understand how urgent this is when the recovery page is also returning a temporary maintenance error.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Forum contributors cannot access accounts, remove security information, or recover accounts on behalf of users.

For a compromised personal Microsoft account, first use the Microsoft Account Sign-in Helper. It can provide the appropriate recovery options and may offer the opportunity to contact an agent.

If the error continues, follow these steps to request live support:

1, Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support

2, In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account recovery" and press Enter.

3, Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.

4, Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.

5, When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".

6, For the category, choose "Manage account security".

7, Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

8, Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.

9, When connected, clearly explain your situation. Be concise but include all relevant details.

Support agents can explain the available recovery route, but for security reasons, they cannot directly change account details or send password-reset links.

I hope these steps help you connect with the appropriate support team and provide a way forward in recovering your account.
