Yes—if the installed device includes scanner hardware and the scanner function is installed in Windows, it can be used to scan documents.
In Windows 11, a printer/scanner can be added from:
- Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add a printer or scanner and add the device if it appears.
If the device is already installed but scanning is not available, remove and re-add it:
- Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the device and choose Remove device.
- Select Add a printer or scanner or Add device to reinstall it.
If it is a Bluetooth printer or scanner, first make the device discoverable, then add it from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Windows also supports scanners that are installed with Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers.
