Trouble with work account email when using Microsoft learn as it is coming up as a personal email account and not work email.

Once that is done, I can use my work email and associate with my personal email account, so all learn credits from Microsoft learn are transferred to my personal profile.

    A work email can appear as a personal Microsoft account if that same email address is registered both as a personal Microsoft account and as a work or school account. That is why Microsoft can show account selection behavior or treat the address as personal in some sign-in flows.

    This usually means the browser is reusing a saved personal-account session, or the work address is not being recognized correctly in your organization’s Microsoft Entra directory.

    Here are some suggestions you can try:

    Open a new InPrivate/Incognito browser window and sign in to Microsoft Learn again. When prompted, select Work or school account, not Personal account.

    If the wrong account still opens, sign out of all Microsoft pages, close the browser, then clear cookies for microsoft.com, live.com, and learn.microsoft.com. After reopening the browser, try signing in again.

    Test the work account at https://myaccount.microsoft.com/. If it is not accepted there as a work account, ask your company’s IT administrator to confirm that the address is the correct username or UPN in Microsoft Entra ID and that the account is active. Work accounts are created and managed by the organization’s administrator.

    If the account works elsewhere but Learn still classifies it incorrectly, contact Microsoft Support. Include your Learn username, the affected email address, and a screenshot of the account-selection screen. The Learn username is available in the profile settings and helps support locate the correct profile.
