Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear Gavin Shore,
Since the message specifically tells you to contact your IT helpdesk, it usually indicates that the devices are managed by a work or school organization. In that case, only an administrator in the organization may have permission to remove them from the device list in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
From there, you can navigate to Identity > Devices > All devices, select the device, and remove it if appropriate. For more information, please follow this article: Manage device identities using the Microsoft Entra admin center
In this case, may I ask whether you are an administrator for your Microsoft 365 tenant, or are you a regular user?
- If you are a user, please reach out to your IT administrator or helpdesk, as they manage the Microsoft 365 subscription and have the permissions required to remove organization-managed devices. For reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?
- If you are the IT administrator and you purchased and manage the subscription yourself, sign in with an account that has Global Administrator permissions and access the Microsoft Entra admin center: https://entra.microsoft.com/
- If you cannot remember which account has the Global Administrator role, you may need to identify the admin account first. Try signing in with any work accounts you own and check the assigned roles in the Microsoft Entra admin center > Users > All users > Look at the User Type
I hope the information is helpful. If you have any questions or if I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to your update.
