Office is now loaded on a iMac and I would like to delete it from the mac and re-install in on a dell PC that I haven't bought yet. Is there any way that you could e-mail me instructions?

Thank you for your response, but I don't have a subscription. I bought a single use card at best buy with my Mac a few years ago and I'm not liking the Mac at all! I'm going to buy a Dell PC next week and I'm looking to use the office program on it. It's a lifetime single use license to use on either a Mac or PC I just need some help to do it.

Oh I see. Since you mentioned 365, anything with the wording 365 is subscription.
If you have a perpetual one-time purchased license, then yes, you need to uninstall first.
Do you know the exact name of the license please? For example, Office Home 2024, or?

Ok, this time you got the license name correct. Yeah, in the future, when referencing a product name, the name matters. That's why I treated it as a subscription case to begin with.
In this case, you can just delete the apps on your macOS.
Then use the instruction here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193 Download and run the license removal tool to clear the license completely from the macOS.
Dennis, if you have the Microsoft 365 subscription, you don't need to remove it on the iMac. You can just go ahead and install on Dell.
To do so, Please go to https://www.office.com
Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.
Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.
