    Dear Jayanetti, Nilmini S,

I understand that Microsoft Authenticator is not capturing the QR code displayed by SAP Concur during the manual login setup process.

To help narrow down the issue, could you please confirm the following:

    1. Are you using an iOS or Android device?
    2. Do you receive any error message when attempting to scan the QR code, or does nothing happen?
    3. Are you able to scan other QR codes successfully using Microsoft Authenticator?
    4. Is Microsoft Authenticator updated to the latest version available on your device?
    5. Are you able to scan the same QR code using Microsoft Authenticator on a different device?

As a next step, please refer to the troubleshooting steps provided by the AI assistant, as they appear to be appropriate for this scenario.

    • Update Microsoft Authenticator to the latest version. QR scanning may fail on older versions.
    • Open Microsoft Authenticator, select the plus icon, and add the account from there.
    • For a work or school account, select Work or school account and then Scan a QR Code.
    • If the QR code still does not scan, on the sign-in/setup page select Can't scan the QR image or Can't scan the image if that option is shown.
    • In Authenticator, use the manual entry option and enter the code and URL shown on the setup page.
    • If the account setup page is for a work or school account, the QR code is normally generated from the Security info page at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.

If the issue persists after completing those steps, please try resetting your authenticator registration and then attempt the setup again.

For step-by-step details, see the official Microsoft documentation: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multi-factor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your account's organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Note: Once re-registration is triggered, all your existing MFA methods such as phone numbers, Authenticator app, or other verification options will be removed. You will need to set up new MFA methods during your next login. Please ensure you have access to a valid phone number or the Microsoft Authenticator app before attempting to sign in again.

Should the issue continue even after the reset, please let me know and kindly provide responses to the questions I asked above.

Thank you very much for your valuable time and your cooperation.

If Microsoft Authenticator is not scanning the SAP Concur QR code, use these steps:

    1. Update Microsoft Authenticator to the latest version. QR scanning may fail on older versions.
    2. Open Microsoft Authenticator, select the plus icon, and add the account from there.
    3. For a work or school account, select Work or school account and then Scan a QR Code.
    4. If the QR code still does not scan, on the sign-in/setup page select Can't scan the QR image or Can't scan the image if that option is shown.
    5. In Authenticator, use the manual entry option and enter the code and URL shown on the setup page.
    6. If the account setup page is for a work or school account, the QR code is normally generated from the Security info page at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.

If the app is asking for approval or a number match before the account was successfully added, the MFA registration may need to be reset by the organization administrator so the account can be registered again.
