Problem description

I am experiencing difficulties recreating a certificate profile in Azure Artifact Signing (Trusted Signing - Preview) after deleting an existing profile with the same name. The creation attempts fail with an error, and it appears that reusing the original profile name triggers the failure. I want to understand the cause of this issue and how to successfully recreate the profile.

Environment

Azure Artifact Signing (Trusted Signing – Preview) service, resource region not specified.

Previous report

I reported this issue previously over at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5987695/artifact-signing-cannot-recreate-certificate-profi, but I am re-reporting this as part of the official technical support flow.

What I've already tried

I have completed a new identity validation flow using AU10TIX and confirmed the validation in Azure. I deleted the old certificate profile (lexifi-apropos) following Microsoft guidance for renewal. I attempted to recreate the profile with the same name, but each attempt fails with an error. I have reviewed publicly available documentation and FAQs about certificate profile deletion and name reuse, and I have ensured that the identity validation status is 'Completed' before linking it to a new profile. I also tried creating a profile with a different name, but the issue persists with the original name.

Current status

I am seeking clarification on whether the name reuse is restricted during the soft-delete or pending-purge period, and how to confirm that the profile name is fully available for reuse. Additionally, I want guidance on the expected propagation time after deletion and any diagnostic steps to verify the profile's deletion status.
