Hi Girum,

Unexpected verification codes may mean someone is attempting to sign in to an account associated with your email address or phone number, or another user entered your details by mistake. Do** not share the codes, approve unexpected Authenticator prompts, or click links in the **messages. [support.mi...rosoft.com], [support.mi...rosoft.com]

Please take these steps:

  1. Open the Microsoft Account Security page directly and review Recent** **activity for unfamiliar sign-in attempts.
  2. Change your password to a strong, unique password if you notice suspicious activity.
  3. Review and remove any unrecognized email addresses, phone numbers, devices, or sign-in methods.
  4. Use Microsoft Authenticator or a passkey instead of SMS where possible. Microsoft identifies passkeys as phishing-resistant sign-in methods. [support.mi...rosoft.com]
  5. If the codes continue, use Microsoft’s verification-code troubleshooter or contact Microsoft Support. [support.mi...rosoft.com], [support.mi...rosoft.com]

There may not be a direct way to stop someone from repeatedly initiating code requests, but securing the account and ignoring all unrequested codes will prevent those codes from being used to access it.
