    Hello Jones,

From what you described, you purchased a prepaid one-year Microsoft 365 Personal product code, but when you try to redeem it, you receive a payment-related error.

This may be caused by conflicting billing settings, an account payment issue, or a product key that does not match the account’s plan or region.

Please try the options below and check whether the issue continues:

    1. Sign in at https://microsoft365.com/setup using the Microsoft account connected to your current Microsoft 365 subscription, then enter the 25-character code.
    2. If a recurring billing option appears, switch it off before confirming.
    3. Visit https://account.microsoft.com/servicesand check whether the subscription shows Expires on rather than a future billing date. If recurring billing is enabled, select Manage > Turn off recurring billing. You can still use the prepaid year normally.
    4. Check for any unpaid balance or Fix how you pay message under Payment & billing.

If the issue continues, please confirm:

    1. What is the exact error message or code?
    2. Where was the product key purchased?
    3. What subscription and expiration date appear under Services & subscriptions?

I look forward to your update so we could look into it further!
