Hola Katherine,
Microsoft can store multiple addresses, and changing the address on your Microsoft account does not necessarily update the address associated with an existing Microsoft 365 subscription or an invoice that has already been issued. You mentioned that the invoice shows an old address, even though your account and billing details are current.
If this is a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription purchased directly from Microsoft, Microsoft notes that changing the billing address on your Microsoft account applies only to new purchases. Existing active subscriptions can continue to use the previous billing address.
Microsoft documents that here.
That would explain why the address you currently see in your account settings is correct while the subscription invoice still shows the old one.
If this is actually a Microsoft 365 Business subscription, the address on the invoice comes from the billing account rather than your normal user profile. Microsoft business invoices can include a Sold-to address, a Bill-to address, and, in some cases, a Service usage address. These are managed separately in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Billing > Billing accounts.
Microsoft documents those address settings here.
Since you specifically need the already-issued invoice corrected for accounting purposes, I would not assume that simply updating the account will regenerate that invoice. You may need Microsoft Billing Support to determine whether they can correct or reissue the existing invoice.
Before I point you down the wrong path, can you confirm whether this is a Microsoft 365 Personal/Family subscription purchased with a personal Microsoft account, or a Microsoft 365 Business subscription managed through the Microsoft 365 admin center?
Thanks,
James
