Creating a Microsoft Account when setting up a new laptop?

I am helping a friend set up her new laptop. It has never been turned on before. I know that fairly early on, Microsoft is going to ask me to log into a Microsoft Account. She is switching from Apple products and does not have a Microsoft account. My questions:

When they ask me to log into Microsoft Account, will there be an option that allows me to set up a brand new Microsoft Account instead of signing into an existing one?
If the answer to #1 is yes, she wants to set up a brand new email account in Outlook and use that email address to create and sign into Microsoft Account. Would she be able to create that brand new Outlook account at the same time as creating The new Microsoft Account, or does an email account need to be already established? If I have to create the Outlook email address first, how do I do that for her on my PC when I'm signed into my own Microsoft Account on my computer? Will creating her Outlook email account on my computer in any way, shape, or form, link my Microsoft Account to her new one she creates. Should I fully log out of my Microsoft Account before creating her new Outlook email account?

Edit: We aren't interested in any workarounds like creating an offline account first.

Sorry for all the questions. We just want everything to go smoothly in the setup of her laptop. Thanks for any help!

Yep - you can create a brand-new Outlook email address and Microsoft account directly on the new laptop during the initial Windows setup process. You do not need to create the account beforehand.

When Windows prompts you to sign in with a Microsoft account on the new laptop, select "No account? Create one!" During the account-creation process, Microsoft will give you the option to "Get a new email address." You can then create a new @outlook.com address, which immediately becomes the Microsoft account username and login for the new laptop.

So you do not need to create the account on your existing PC first. Creating it directly during setup on her new laptop is actually the cleanest and easiest approach.

The new account will not be linked to your existing Microsoft account. Microsoft accounts are separate profiles associated with the email address and credentials used to create them.

You also do not need to log out of your own PC. Creating her new Microsoft account during setup on a separate laptop has no effect on your existing Windows or Microsoft account, unless you later choose to add her account to your PC.
