Yesterday on my Outlook app, I moved some emails from one folder to the Notes folder. Today the folder has disappeared from the app but the Notes folder is still there on the web on my Outlook mail page but the emails have gone.

Hi @margot gordon

I’m sorry those messages disappeared. Since the Notes folder exists on the web but is empty, check the server mailbox first:

  • In Outlook on the web, search for a missing message by sender or subject and set the scope to All folders.
  • Open Deleted Items and restore any matching messages.
  • If absent, select Recover items deleted from this folder, choose the messages, then select Restore.
  • Check Archive, Junk Email, and ensure Filter > All is selected.
  • After recovery, move the messages into a newly created mail folder rather than Notes, then refresh or restart the Outlook app.

The mailbox folder check available to me did not show Notes among the returned mail folders, although it did show items in Deleted Items. This suggests Notes may not be syncing as a standard mail folder in the app.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
