    Hi Davis,

For school accounts, only your school's IT administrator has the authority to manage licenses and verify account status.

I recommend checking your license first. To do this, please sign in at office.com using your school account, then go to App Launcher > More apps > Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps. Please review the Subscriptions section to see which license has been assigned to your account:.

If you have an Office 365 A1 license, you can use Word and other Office apps through your web browser, but you will not be able to activate the desktop version.

You can sign in to office.com, open the App Launcher > Select the Office app you would like to use online.

If you account license is deactivated, I recommend contacting your school's IT administrator. In case you do not know who is your IT admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

They can verify that the correct license is assigned to your account and confirm that the subscription is active. You can also share the following information with them:

1/ Ask them to verify that your account is assigned a license that includes desktop apps such as A3 or A5: Assign or unassign licenses for users in the Microsoft 365 admin center - Microsoft 365 admin | Mic…

2/ Ask them to check the subscription status and verify that the license is active and not expired:

View or download your invoice in the Microsoft 365 admin center | Microsoft Learn

I hope this helps clarify the situation. If you have any questions or require additional support, please don't hesitate to reach out at any time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Check with your school. Maybe something has changed so that you are no longer allowed to install the Office apps locally?
