This spectrum issue has been going on for some time already and their support still points fingers at Microsoft, while their engineering seems to be aware and are working on it.

Since this started suddenly and affects all 5 computers, the most likely causes are the Spectrum account connection, Outlook account credentials, or the outgoing mail path rather than a single PC issue.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. Verify whether Spectrum works outside Outlook
      • Sign in to Spectrum webmail in a browser.
      • Try sending a test message there.
      • If sending also fails in webmail, the issue is with the Spectrum account or service, not Outlook.
    2. Check whether Outlook is offline
      • In classic Outlook, look at the bottom status bar.
      • If it shows Disconnected, Working Offline, or Trying to connect..., Outlook cannot reach the mail server.
      • In Outlook, go to the Send/Receive tab and select Work Offline to switch back online if needed.
      • Then try Send/Receive again.
    3. Re-enter the account password
      • If the Spectrum password was changed recently, Outlook must be updated too.
      • Select the email account name, choose Continue when prompted, and sign in again with the current password.
      • If Spectrum requires an app password, generate it on the provider side and use that in Outlook instead of the normal password.
    4. Check for a stuck message in Outbox
      • Open the Outbox.
      • Start with the oldest unsent message.
      • If it has a large attachment, remove it and try again. Messages with attachments larger than about 20 MB can block sending.
    5. Test the network path
      • Since all devices are affected, try sending while connected to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot.
      • For Outlook for Mac guidance, Microsoft notes that some ISPs or networks block connections to the outgoing SMTP server. If that is happening, an alternative SMTP server from the provider may be required.
    6. Confirm the account works on another app or device
      • If the same Spectrum account also fails in another mail app or device, that points to an account-specific or provider-side issue rather than Outlook itself.
    7. Run Microsoft troubleshooting
      • For classic Outlook, use the Classic Outlook troubleshooters.
      • If that does not help, use Contact Support.

Because the problem began suddenly and affects every computer, the strongest isolation step is:

    • send from Spectrum webmail
    • then test Outlook from a different network

If webmail sends successfully but Outlook still does not, focus on Outlook sign-in, app password requirements, offline status, or SMTP/network blocking.
