This is usually caused by the Microsoft account being treated as a child account on the new PC, or by Family Safety / consent settings not being fully applied there.
Try these checks in order:
- Check third-party app access for the child account
- Sign in as the parent at
https://account.live.com/mk. - Find the child account.
- Select Manage this child's access to third party apps.
- Select Enable access.
- If Enable access is not shown, the child already has access to apps not published by Microsoft.
- Sign in as the parent at
- Make sure the child account is not an administrator on the new PC
- Open Settings for Other accounts.
- Select the child account.
- Choose Change account type.
- Set it to Standard user.
- This helps prevent Family Safety settings from being changed or bypassed.
- Verify the child’s Microsoft account on the new PC
- On the child’s device, go to Start > Settings > Accounts.
- Select Verify and complete the prompts.
- If Verify is not shown, open Microsoft Edge on that device and verify at
https://aka.ms/familyverify.
- If the account is being treated as underage incorrectly, review the birth date
- If the birth date is wrong, update it using the Microsoft account birth date process.
- If the account is correctly under the local age threshold, parental consent and Family Safety settings must remain in place.
- If age verification is required in the region
- In some countries/regions, Microsoft requires age verification.
- If age verification is not completed, the account is treated as unverified and cannot make new purchases or downloads of games and apps rated 18+.
- Existing owned mature content remains accessible.
- If the issue only affects the new PC
- Sign in with the child’s Microsoft account on the device and complete any account verification prompts there.
- Since the same account still works on the laptop, this points to device-side account verification or Family Safety state on the new PC rather than loss of the Minecraft account itself.
If the problem continues after these steps, use the Microsoft sign-in helper or Contact Support.
