I use an IPad as my computer. I use Outlook Hotmail for emails. Two weeks ago my Pinned emails disappeared. I had about 20. I have tried hard to get them back.

    Clarification please: Did the emails themselves disappear? Or they are still there but are no longer pinned?

    Please check your Hotmail account by opening Outlook Web at this link: https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/ . Same as what you see in Outlook for iOS on your iPad?

    If the emails are gone, use Outlook Web to check your Deleted Items folder.
    Use the "Web" tab on https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/mail/recover-and-restore-deleted-items-in-outlook

    If the emails just became unpinned, it is almost impossible to determine what happened. If you pin them again, and they get unpinned again, I would suggest you bring in Microsoft Support.

    • Logon to https://outlook.live.com/
    • From the main menu: Help -> ? Help
    • {This should open the Help side panel}
    • Search Help -> {Your problem} and press Enter
    • Still need help? [Yes]
    • If you get "We're here to help": Tell us your problem -> {Your problem, again} [Get Help]
    • [Sign In] {Use any Outlook/Microsoft account}
    • Choose a support option -> Chat with a support agent in your web browser

    Since the pinned emails disappeared in both Outlook/Hotmail views, the best supported checks are:

    1. In Outlook.com, check Deleted Items. If the messages are there, select them and choose Restore.
    2. If they are not in Deleted Items, in that folder select Recover items deleted from this folder. If the missing emails appear, select them and choose Restore.
    3. Check Archive, Junk Email, and the Other tab if Focused Inbox is enabled.
    4. In the Inbox, select Filter and make sure it is set to All so messages are not hidden.
    5. On a computer view of Outlook.com, check Rules settings and confirm no rule is moving messages out of the Inbox. The documented path is to go to Rules settings and review any rule that may be moving mail.
    6. If there is any concern that someone else accessed the account, review recent sign-in activity on the Microsoft account activity page.

    Important limits from the documented recovery options:

    • Messages removed from Deleted Items are recoverable for 30 days.
    • Messages removed from Junk Email are automatically removed after 30 days and are not recoverable.
    • Rules can only be viewed and edited from a computer.
    • Recovery from Deleted Items cannot be done in Outlook for iOS, Outlook for Android, or a mobile browser; use a computer view if possible.

    If the messages do not appear in Deleted Items, Recover items, Archive, Junk Email, or Other, the remaining documented step is to contact Outlook.com support from the Help menu and use Still need help?
