Hello @Danley Kohn
If you’re the subscription owner of Microsoft 365 Premium, Copilot should be available in supported desktop apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote, and not just the web versions.
Since it works on the web, I’d check these desktop-specific items:
- In Word/Excel, go to File > Account and confirm you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account that owns the Premium subscription. With Microsoft 365 Family/Premium, Copilot desktop benefits aren’t shared with other members.
- Under File > Account, install the latest Office updates, then select Update License. Close all Office apps and reopen them. Microsoft specifically recommends this when the Copilot button is missing.
- Check File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings and make sure Experiences that analyze your content and All connected experiences are enabled.
- If this is an organization-managed installation, also check the Office update channel. Microsoft states that Copilot features aren’t available on the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel; use the Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel.
Microsoft has a troubleshooting article specifically for this scenario:
How to find and enable a missing Copilot button in Microsoft 365 apps
Given that you’ve already opened multiple tickets, I’d also ask Microsoft Support to verify the Copilot entitlement associated with the account and the desktop Office activation token, rather than repeating application reinstall/troubleshooting steps.
