How to Redeem MSFS 2020 after PC repair

I purchased MSFS 2020 (Discs) when it came out. My Windows PC needed repair which required anew windows install.

I re-installed MSFS 10 Discs and when I entered my Licence code I was told that the code had already been re-deemed.

Is there a way to solve this or do I have to buy MSFS 2024. I am a bit reluctant to buy as I am 75 and not long for this world.

Appreciate any help

Hi Allan Gillespie,

Based on your description, it may not be necessary to purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. If your MSFS 2020 license was previously redeemed, it is often linked to the Microsoft account that was used during the original activation.

You may want to try the following:

1, Sign in with the Microsoft account originally used for MSFS 2020

  • Open the Microsoft Store and sign in.
  • Check Library > Owned products to see if Flight Simulator appears.

2, Verify the edition and activation method

  • If the disc version included a redemption code, confirm that you are using the same Microsoft account that redeemed it previously.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. If you're able to confirm how the product was originally activated (Microsoft account, Microsoft Store, or another platform), the community may be able to provide more specific guidance.
